Michael J. McGrath: ABCDT

Owner/LEAD Trainer

Michael is a certified dog trainer through Animal Behavior College. With specialty degrees in Helping Shelter Animals, The Art of Teaching Private Lessons, and Pet Nutrition. Michael is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (All Levels), AKC Trick Dog Evaluator (All Levels), AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator, as well as an AKC Temperament Test Evaluator. Michael teaches 20+ group classes ranging from Puppy Kindergarten through Basic Obedience Level 3, per week and has done so on Cape Cod for nearly a decade. Michael’s specialty area is in working with reactive dogs and helping their owners learn to overcome or manage these issues and live a content life. Doing over 200+ private trainings per year. Michael’s heart is in helping dogs (especially rescue) and their owners reach their greatest potential through training, so that they can live happy fulfilled lives together. His philosophy is simple stick to the 3 P’s: Patience, Persistence, and Positivity. If you stick with the 3 P’s they sky is the limit to what you and your dog can achieve.

Hannah Surette: MJO Certified Trainer, Rally & Competition Obedience, and Specialty Expert

Hannah’s love for animals and training started at a young age. She began riding and training horses at age of 10 years old and this has greatly influenced how she trains dogs today. Her interest in dog training began when she was gifted a spirited Australian Shepherd puppy. This puppy sparked a passion for learning and teaching obedience and trick training. Hannah is Certified as an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator, an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator as well as an AKC Trick Dog Evaluator. Her specialty area is in Rally Obedience but also instructs AKC Trick Dog, High Drive Handling (for dogs with lots of drive), Advanced Heeling Classes, among many other areas which our Hannah is amazingly talented. All three of Hannah's dogs are trained in obedience, rally obedience and trick training. These days you will find Hannah spending any free moment training and competing with her border collie Ray in Obedience, Rally and Disc Dog.

Marc Marshall: MJO Certied Trainer

Marc has been with us here at MJObedience for over a year now. He has always been fantastic with dogs from a very young age. After starting classes with Michael with his dog Nyx it was clear to see he had a knack for training. He has now apprenticed mainly under Michael, but also has learned so much from our amazing Specialty Expert Hannah Surette as well. His knowledge is growing in leaps and bounds. He has started his own classes here at MJO and is thriving as a young trainer. His people skills are fantastic and his advice has grown to be solid and sound. Along with this Marc and Nyx are also competing in Rally Obedience and has earned multiple titles doing so. In just his 1st year he has put in so much hard work he and Nyx have earned darn near 10 TITLES!!! Such an amazing feat for a young man and a young dog. We could not be any prouder of Marc’s progression. Getting Marc on board here at such a young age will ensure the Cape has Obedience Training done the right way for generations to come!!
